Toastmasters area contests are an essential tradition of the organization. Members participate in several speech contests each year, including the International Speech Contest, Humorous Contest, Evaluation Contest, Tall Tales Contest, and Table Topics Contest. Winners proceed from the club level to the Area, Division, and District levels, and from there, they can participate in the prestigious World Championship of Public Speaking. The Board of Directors has decided that all speech contests at the Area, Division, and District levels may be conducted either in person, online, or in a hybrid format for the 2023-2024 Contest Cycle. Toastmasters area contests promote growth, camaraderie, and excellence in public speaking and allow members to refine their skills, gain confidence, and connect with a global community of communicators.
