Toastmasters International is the world’s leading organization devoted to improving and developing individual communication and leadership skills. Toastmasters District 109 is a “Smedley Distinguished District” that consists of 116 clubs (30th June 2023) across Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Greece, Italy, Israel, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Switzerland, Slovenia, Türkiye, and Vatican City. Each group of three to six clubs is taken care of by an Area Director who visits them and builds the bridge to the district. Three or more Areas can be grouped in a Division. A Division Director is the team leader for the Division´s Area Directors. They report to the District Director.

Our District is composed of the following 8 Divisions:

  • Division A – Italy (San Marino, Vatican City), Malta

  • Division C – Switzerland (Basel, Bern, Luzern + Surrounding Areas)

  • Division D – Switzerland (Geneva, Nyon, Lausanne, Neuchatel + Surrounding Areas)

  • Division E – Switzerland (Zurich, Winterthur, Baden + Surrounding Areas)

  • Division F – Austria, Slovenia

  • Division G – Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Israel

  • Division H – Türkiye

A Toastmaster’s Promise

As a member of Toastmasters International and my club, I promise:

  • To attend club meetings regularly

  • To prepare all of my speech and leadership projects to the best of my ability, basing them on projects in the Competent Communication, Advanced Communication, or Competent Leadership manuals

  • To prepare for and fulfill meeting assignments

  • To provide fellow members with helpful, constructive evaluations

  • To help the club maintain the positive, friendly environment necessary for all members to learn and grow
